Feeling Artistic

After attending a flute and piccolo recital at the Hong Kong Arts Centre this evening...

Ah Choy is playing piano for her friend at this recital so some of us got free ticket to attend... Met Wylis, Keet and Kin up for dinner at Pacific Place before proceeding to Agnes b Cinema at Arts Centre for the recital... Before the show started, we had a fun time spotting the typos in the programme booklets... Soon the show started... the flutist (or flautist, whatever) is younger than what I expected... only 20 this year... he played pretty well but I figured that he didn't have enough practice for some of the pieces and somehow seems to lack the composure of more mature performers... Ah Choy played really well! Good technique plus emotion plus showmanship... Think she's really got the poise of a great performer!

Love the pieces for the first half... but the pieces in the second half were too "unique" for not quite my cup of tea... one was too avant garde for my liking... and the other plays on funny chords and quotation of well-known pieces which I didn't quite appreciate...

Nonetheless an enjoyable night... making life a little happier despite the coldness...
