Things You Do on A Hot Midsummer Night
Join the crowd at Fort Canning Park for a play... and picnic...
Went there to watch "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by Singapore Repertory Theatre at Fort Canning Park this evening...
The occassion? LW's birthday (happy birthday girl!)...
The play was staged on the grass lawn in the park... audience can just sit there on their mat and enjoy the show under the (ideally) starry sky... but the sky was cloudy the whole night.. in fact it rained in the late afternoon and we were really worried that they might cancel the show at night...
Bought loads of food and drinks from nearby Carrefour to keep our mouths occupied during the 2 hours plus show...
Honestly, I'm not a very Shakespear person... but with some cueing from a friend, I wasn't too lost watching the play... SRT added some pretty modern and comical stuff into the play so it's quite funny.... And it's nice to watch a romantic comedy in such relaxing environment... Quite a refreshing experience... I like!
