Back from Jakarta

Am finally back from Jakarta! It's been a freaking tiring week... Packed with activities and meetings in the day... Still gotta work on reports and presentation at night from my hotel room...
We stayed in Hotel Gran Mahakam... Small but nice hotel... The decor is quite European...




Thursday was the only day I got to really take a look at the Jakarta city coz I was out for courier checkride and sales visit... But well, it's more like just a mini city tour from the vehicle while stuck in traffic jam...

Super alot of small stalls by the side of the road selling food... from gado gado to lontong...

There are all kind of surprises while on the road... family of three all on the same motobike wearing election candidate t-shirt for election rally (apparently they are paid to do so), all kind of paintings on lorries, man walking his pet monkey by the roadside, people standing by the road offering to be a passenger of your car going into the CBD (and get paid) because of the "3 passenger in 1 car" rule during peak hour, etc etc...

And here is a motorcyclist-wannabe kid (barely 3 year old I guess) on a motorbike parked by the roadside pretending to ride the motorbike...

The local service agent's management hosted a dinner for us at JW Marriot on Thursday night... While walking by the porch area, the thought of people dying right where I was during the bombing 5 years ago just send a chill down my spine... *gasp*

Am happy to be back in SG... Gonna catch up on my much needed sleep...
