家傳菜

Remembered that there was this series on 家傳菜 on the show 焦點 on Singapore TV channel 8 last time... it talked about dishes that have been passed down for generations... for my family, it has to be 番茄蛋炒午餐肉... My grandmother used to cook it for my mum and my mum for us... and we all love it though it's a simple dish...

Now that I have a fridge and can finally do some serious cooking, this dish has to be the first dish I cook...

Fairly simple to cook... first fry the egg and put it one side... then same for the diced luncheon meat... then fry the tomato, add some water, ketchup and sugar... let it simmer for a short while... add in corn starch to thicken the sauce... then add in the egg and luncheon meat and mix everything together... and *ta da* you have your 番茄蛋炒午餐肉...

Anyway... slacked at home the whole day (except going out for brunch and grocery shopping)... too tired from last night... joined my colleague and her friend for Mid Autumn BBQ at Shek O til late... and there's another round of Mid Autumn celebration tomorrow with my cell! So I thought better stay home and get some rest... even then, I'm even more tired now after doing all the household chores and cooking! *Yawn*
