Discover Hong Kong - 买东西吃东西 (Day 3)

Though it was our last day in HK, day 3 of the trip was filled with many interesting happenings.

Once we stepped out of the hotel, we saw this little girl dragging a luggage bag all by herself. The bag was as big as she is, and we suspected that we could just put her inside the bag! It was a really interesting sight!

We had ham omelette and satay beef instant noodles (what they call 公仔面) for breakfast at the cafe next to our hotel. Instant noodles is a very common dish in cafes in HK, but it is much nicer than what we can whipped up in our own kitchen. The soup is specially made, not from the instant noodles package. They also have all sort of stuff like beef, pork, luncheon meat and all to go along with the instant noodles.

After breakfast, we were on our way for our final round of shopping. On the way, we saw TVB filming some drama series starring 欧阳震华. So exciting!

We headed to Grand Tower - not very big, but they have a lifestyle shop that sells really nice stuff like CD holders (in the shape of a coke can and dices) and clocks. After that, we went back to Langham Place to shop. It has got 13 storeys, and level 5 to 13 sells trendy stuffs.

Now, IQ question time - how do you get from level 12 to level 4 in 2 steps?

Answer:

Step 1 - take a freaking long escalator from level 12 to level 8.

Step 2 - take another freaking long escalator from level 8 to level 4.

I bought another top from Langham Place and a pair of white Birkenstock (cheaper than Singapore!) from 花园街. Had to last minute squeeze everything into my luggage!

For our last meal in HK, we had cantonese style porridge with freshly made 猪肠粉 (with many prawns and it's less than S$3!). Very nice! I also drank 菜蜜 (water spinach honey), which is actually honey that has got a slight water spinach aftertaste.

When our luggages are full (with our shopping) and our stomachs are full, we set off to depart from HK Airport (best airport in the world!)
