Slacking... The Ultimate Bliss
I'm back from Batam!
Yes, Batam. Not Sibu. Since it was fully booked over at Sibu. So no snorkelling for me. :(
However, during this 3D2N trip in Batam, I had one major discovery - Slacking is the ultimate bliss in life!
Day 1
The trip began with the early morning ferry ride from HarbourFront to Batam with Ivy, Jasmine, and her bf, Kelvin. It was really boring in the lower deck, so Ivy and I went to the upper deck to enjoy the view and seabreeze.
Bye bye Singapore!

Love the way the water shimmer under the sun!

In an hour or so, we reached Harris Resort at Batam and were greeted by orangy stuff everywhere.
From the cafe...
The room...

And even the picture on the wall! (This one is so cute!)

And we had sea view from our room!

Once we settled down, we went down to the cafe for lunch. Had this yummy grilled salmon served with veggie and hash brown (which they made themselves).

After lunch, we went for bowling and pool. Both super value for money! Though I am really sucky when it comes to both bowling and pool, it's good that I had not one, but three coaches! After chipping off a corner of my thumbnail from bowling and making 2 stupid mistakes in the pool game, we went to a nearby kelong for dinner. The folks at the resort was really nice and gave us a lift to the kelong. And I love the rustic feel of the kelong!

We had chilli crab, butter crab, tom yam soup, hot plate beancurd and baby kailan.

The tom yam soup was really nice! Spicy and sour and hot!
After dinner, Ivy and I decided to go walk walk by the beach. Chatted the night away with a church camp having their camp fire not too far off. So we started singing along with the familiar tunes.
Day 2
Day 2 was the day I discovered the true meaning of slacking. We woke up late, had breakfast, went for spa, had lunch, took afternoon nap, had dinner, and then went for happy hour. Ultimate slacking!
The spa experience was unforgettable. The spa was on the roof top of the club house, where they had little huts for you to have a semi-outdoor spa experience. Halfway through our massage, it started raining. And eventually, the rain got so heavy that the roof started leaking! The masseur tried move the bed around to avoid the rain but soon it was leaking everywhere. We had to stop for a good half an hour while seeking shelter at the reception. -_-
The bad weather continued for the entire day. How bad is bad?
This bad...

Which is the perfect excuse for slacking. And it's such a bliss to just hide under the warm blanket on a rainy day do absolutely nothing!
We went back to kelong for dinner at night for more tom yam soup to warm our stomach on a rainy day.

And we had yummy black pepper prawns this time!

After dinner, we went happy hour at the resort's bar. Surprisingly, we were the only guests for the night. We were enjoying the live music and a game of pool, and before we knew it, we were dragged up the stage to sing as well! When the live band knocked off, we took over the stage and started singing and playing drum. So fun!
Day 3
As if we had reserved all the energy for the last day, Ivy and I went for go-kart, jet ski, jacuzzi and swimming all within the same morning. Go-kart was pretty fun except that the track was a little small. We kept going round and round. And Ivy's go-kart died twice.
Jet ski was FUN! We went all the way out to the little island opposite!

And it's so shiok to speed along the waves, with the sea breeze blowing on your face... I'm getting addicted to jet ski! And this is the first jet ski I ride on!

Minor "accident" at the end of the jet ski session... Was absolutely hopeless with "parallel parking" so my jet ski bumped head on to the platform.
Oh yah... we had a special guest with us for this trip... He's none other than...

Dr A! (He's one of the big boss up there) The pic on Kalvin's t-shirt looks really like him, with the beard and all!
