Whirlwind Trip to Manila... And Back...

I'm back from my 3D2N Manila trip!!

Thanks to my rather generous client, my boss and I got to fly SQ and check into Shangri La...

We arrived in Manila on Tuesday in the evening... what a pleasant surprise to know that the so-called "airport transfer" is a chauffeur-driven car... suddenly feel like some 千金大小姐... 果然 is Shangri La...

We then each checked into our own room... Check out the comfy beds (I don't know why I need 2 beds)...

And the nice nice bathroom...

And this is the view from my room... the business district...

The hotel swimming pool (look so shiok to swim in! But too bad it is closed for some event...)

And the huge jam on the road...

After check-in, we went to this huge huge mall called SM Megamall next to the hotel... it's really huge!!

I took this photo from across the road, and I couldn't capture the whole mall within this pic!

For dinner, we had some Philippino food and our conclusion is that (1) Philippino food is like Chinese food, (2) Philippinos like pork (we had this dish which is like Siew Bah)... Did some quick window shopping only to find that the air-con in the mall is a little too weak...

Day 2 started off with breakfast at Dome (we couldn't find any local stuff for breakie) and then back to hotel to clear emails... the entire afternoon was spent in our Philippines office doing the fieldwork briefing with the local interviewers and meeting clients... First time meeting the Philippino colleagues and they are really friendly!!

After everything, we went to another huge mall nearby - the Shangri La Plaza..

This is the more up-class mall with all the branded stuff... and the air-con is stronger! We had dinner followed by spa... 60 min massage for S$30! Shiok!!

And finally the last day in Manila... we had quick breakfast in a nearby cafe and went to Megamall to walk around... bought some snacks for my family and friends... and that's it, time to go home!

When the plane was about to take off, I saw 2 ground crews waving bye bye to our planes...

Pic taken on the plane... Quite cool huh?

Coz of the heavy air traffic, we made a big round east of Singapore and then another round to JB before flying back to Changi Airport... the map on the flight info screen with the flight route looks like some children drawing with all the curly wurly rounds... and the aerial view of palm plantation in JB is quite cute - the neat rows of trees actually look like the scarf I knit! And I saw a rainbow among the clouds while we were circling in the sky!
